Stand up fan in room not working and I told them at 6pm that I would like a working fan as the room was hot. I was told that someone would come and look at it. Nobody came and there is no one available unless it’s an emergency after 7pm. So the room was hot and it was hot during the night. Couldn’t keep the balcony doors open as had a little dog and no rails on deck. My husband told them that we wanted room service for breakfast and was advised we could have it delivered at 945. No one asked us what we wanted for breakfast. The next morning I called and had to leave a message. No return call. We decided to go to the dining room since we hadn’t heard back by 9am. They told us at breakfast that they charged our credit card for $10 the previous evening for room service for breakfast but they would refund the money through the card. The patio wasn’t open for happy hour even though it was a beautiful day. Happy hour was inside. They served a lovely dish of nuts. The staff are lovely but there are only 2 of them and they do everything from check you in, serve you drinks, cook your breakfast, be the wait staff in the dining room and check you out.

The Latch Inn is a charming property in a peaceful, quiet corner of Sidney yet within easy walking distance to all the shops and restaurants. Lovely views of the ocean in all directions. The hosts were very friendly and welcoming.

Very enjoyable stay. We had to leave at 08h00 and it would have been so much better experience if we had the opportunity to have breakfast, we were given a To Go breakfast that was very tasteless

I had to come into town for business but brought along my son and puppy for a night away. The property is absolutely lovely!! The rooms, the grounds and the entire Inn is beautiful. The staff was kind, attentive, polite and professional. I would definitely recommend The Latch Inn and would stay there again...and the breakfast was amazing!!

How often do you get to stay in an arts & crafts ‘summer home’ from the 1920’s? It’s very close to the ferry and the airport, but it’s quiet and peaceful, and in a nice area for walking.

Property is ideally located about 10 minutes away from the airport, as opposed to going into Victoria proper. It is an older building, with the things that older properties deal with. It's tucked away in a residential area, and you park next door at the condo building lot. If you prefer a full service hotel, then this is not your choice. If you like a quaint, older "home style" buildling, with an excellent breakfast, do it.

Hidden gem

Cozy hidden gem in Sidney, with friendly superior service. The coffee and tea bar in the lounge area was very comfortable and relaxing. Made to order breakfast was quite delicious, my wife and I appreciated that it was gluten free. Their homemade muffin is to die for.

We have been to this property numerous times before n past and had excellent service. Didn’t realize property had changed hands. Snow on the ground and no walkways cleaned which is a safety issue. During breakfast service, no cream for coffee at a b&b?

This place is such an amazing treat. The fact that the owners are respecting its historical value while also allowing for comfort, coziness and quite frankly impressive. The Latch Inn is an amazing place to book if you have an event where people need to spend the night or you just want sometime away on your own or with a loved one. I stayed for the 1st time this winter on a gorgeous sunny day. We had the largest room overlooking the water with a private patio. The care and attention to detail again is something to praise, they may have taken over in 2020 but wow you can tell there is alot of love put into this stunner of a property. Breakfast is included and I highly recommend you do not miss out. Only note is if you're partial to strong coffee I would stick with the coffee service upstairs in the beautiful blue lounge area as opposed to the coffee served in the dining room. Check in and check out was a breeze it honestly hurt my heart to leave. I will definitely be booking for another visit. This time in the summer so I can take advantage of the beautiful garden and patio area. Thank you so much to the Latch Inn, you're all lovely and made my stay very special. - Laura .C
