Eager to see another side of Chania? Then take a detour to the suburb of Vamos. Located 20 kilometres southeast of the centre, it's an awesome place to experience the area like a local. From Nikos Kazantzakis Airport, it's a commute of 90 kilometres to the west. So what are you waiting for? Get into a taxi, throw your bags in the boot and get your adventure underway!

Vamos is heaven on earth for sightseers. A good deal of the city's top attractions are strewn near this fascinating neighbourhood, including the Historical - Folklore Museum of Gavalochori and Melidoni Hoehle. Don't forget to put the Dourakis Winery and Ancient City of Aptera on your list as well. While you're in town, consider checking out other neighbourhoods to experience more of what Chania has to offer. Litsarda and Gavalochori are great suggestions that are a short distance away.
