If you're on the hunt for somewhere to kip for the night in Uto-shi, Japan, there aren't too many places nearby. But you're flush with choice if you look a bit further out. Select from 34 accommodation options within 30 kilometres of downtown Uto-shi.

Go 70 kilometres northwest and you'll be in Ureshino, a regional centre with a population of 19,000. While you're checking out this neck of the woods, you'll be able to whip out your selfie stick and get your tourist on at Todoroki-No-Taki Falls, Hizen Yoshida-Yaki Pottery Hall and the Hizen Yumekaido. Why not also stop and explore Miyuki Park and Ureshino Onsen Tourist Information Center? There is a good number of available hotels in Ureshino, with the Chagokoro no Yado Warakuen and Hana No Shizuku at the top of our list.
If you're holidaying with your mates and your flight hits the tarmac a smidge earlier than theirs, why not take yourself off to the Yakakutei and dibs the best room? It's pretty close to Kagoshima Airport, which is 100 kilometres from the centre of town.
