Very clean but sink and carpet stains

The bed was wonderful. The towels very fluffy. Cleanliness good. Walking distance to shops. Enjoyed our stay.

The ladies who were running the hotel were kind and accomodating. They stayed up until we arrived even though it was after check in hours. The rooms were what we wanted.

I really like Grand Hotel, Whangarei. They were badly let down by Expedia, however. Having made a reservation through Expedia and having received emailed confirmations, on my arrival at Grand Hotel, the staff had not the foggiest idea I was coming. It was only through their efforts I was accommodated.

Online info to contact hotel direct - very poor. On arrival, grateful to considerate receptionist for moving two senior guests to a room not requiring stairs. A microwave and bottle of cold water in the room would be helpful especially when arriving after dining room closed.

Had a choice to stay here while visiting Whangarei. The room was tidy, and the bed was super comfy. As a solo traveller, I found the location very handy and felt totally safe. Heaps of parking right outside, which was sweet as. The staff are absolute legends, so helpful and friendly. Cheers for the great hospitality!
