When chucking a sickie becomes way too simple, it's time to ditch the nine-to-five and say hello to The Bage!

From The Bage venture 75 kilometres southeast to explore the well-known city of Bristol. The bustling streets of another significant city, Manchester, are to the north, 160 kilometres away.

Sitting 10 kilometres west, Hay on Wye is certainly worthy of a visit. Lots of people are drawn here by Hay Castle.

Sitting 85 kilometres to the southwest, Swansea Beach is a great place to while away a few hours listening to the swell. Oxwich Bay Beach is also home to some unforgettable views. You'll find this strip of coastline 95 kilometres to the southwest.

It's common knowledge that getting outside is good for both your mind and body. Keeping that in mind, why don't you venture 45 kilometres out of The Bage to Titterstone Clee Hill? Pen y Fan, just 35 kilometres away, is one more recommended choice.

Whether you'd like to improve your technique or just make it to the bottom in one piece, Herefordshire has the slopes you're after. You can choose from Gloucester Ski and Snowboard Centre or Telford Snowboard and Ski Centre.

Kington, 12 kilometres to the north, is known for the Hergest Croft Gardens and Whitney Bridge. Why not make your way there and go to these outstanding sights? Alternatively, you could stop at Capel-Y-Ffin, 13 kilometres to the south of The Bage, for Pwll-y-wrach Nature Reserve and Sgwd-yr-Eira.

Approximately 20 kilometres to the east, Hereford is a place with something for everyone. Hereford Cathedral, the Hereford Museum and Art Gallery and the Hereford Cider Museum are all pretty close. That said, Shobdon Church and the Mappa Mundi & Chained Library Exhibitions may be more your thing.
