4/10 Poor

Staff were courteous and efficient. Room was quiet, with good views. The king size bed and "blackout" blinds were good. However:
1. The bathroom was pathetically small, even compared to the average country motel room. The short glass shower wall covered half the shower/bath space and water leaked onto the floor during each shower. Very poor, cheap design.
2. There was no stand to place luggage on. Awkward when you want to retrieve clothing. The northern wall contained only a hanging clothes/shoes cupboard and fridge. The rest of the wall was empty except for a chair/tiny table. It looked as if furnishings had been removed and not replaced.
3. The overall build quality of bathroom and walls was low standard - it had the air of a cheap renovation. Even wall corners were formed with metal covers, instead of normal masonry or gyprock which gives a smooth finish.
For the price of $583.95 + $100 parking for 2 nights, I consider Novotel York Street to be poor value.
