Work tip: Get up, stretch, book a Valais hotel, go to the airport, get on a plane, never return. Or something like that. While you'll have a hard time staying in the very centre, there is some accommodation not too far away. Pick from 2 hotels within 10 kilometres of downtown Steg.

A hectic day of seeing the sights can really drain your energy. Zonk out at Hotel Bahnhof Ausserberg and Silence Hotel Buerchnerhof, two of the most central options on offer.

If you're not phased by travelling 18 kilometres to get to the middle of town, have a look at Brig. This area has 6 places to stay, including the Hotel Ambassador Brig and Hotel Victoria.

Looking for more options? The Les Sources Des Alpes is positioned 11 kilometres from central Steg, and the FerienArt Resort & Spa is 30 kilometres away. We'd also recommend the Beausite Park Hotel and the Hotel Marmotte. The first is 30 kilometres from downtown, while the latter is 30 kilometres away.

Zeneggen is another place where you can lay back and order up room service like a boss. Sitting 11 kilometres southeast of Steg, it's where you'll find the Staldenried - Gspon and the Stalden - Staldenried. If you want to spend a few nights in Zeneggen, consider the Hotel Visperhof and Centerpark Apartments. Alternatively, you could stay in Leukerbad, 11 kilometres to the west of Steg, where you can choose from the Astoria and Hotel Heilquelle. The Aminona Gondola Lift and Leukerbad Ski Resort are just some of the most popular sites to see while in Leukerbad.

Saas-Fee is situated 30 kilometres from Steg and has a population of 2,000. When you're in the area, you'd be crazy if you didn't explore Saas-Fee Ski Resort, Swiss Ski and Snowboard School Saas Fee and Saas-Fee Guides - Private Day Tours. Allalin and The Dom are a few more which are sure to offer up some photo ops. There are a great selection of places to stay in Saas-Fee, with the Hotel Bristol and Berghof topping out the list.

Close to station and various restaurants etc. Nice view. Fairly small room, which was fine for us as only stayed 1 night. Nice hot shower and proper hairdryer which I was grateful for! We hadn’t booked breakfast but they gave us a complimentary coffee and croissant as we left which was much appreciated
