first day experience was really bad, we checked in and I upgraded to VIP edition. the bellman who helped us with the luggage showed us the room, but he was kind a rushing though. he straight dropped the luggage and left as soon as i gave him a tip of $5 but later we found that there was another concierge desk for VIP edition and bellman was suppposed to give us a tour. anyway we were being back and forth with getting information. so later that night we made a reservation in Mexican restaurant, same there waiters were rushing and was not very welcoming. food and service were really bad. food in buffet is ok.. lots of options but low quality.. if you don’t care about taste and health then you will be alright but I wouldn’t go again. the staffs in buffet were more friendlier and were welcoming. the continental restaurant by the pool was good for dinner.. waiter and managers were more professional and friendly.. Ricardo at the concierge was very professional and would listen to us. I forgot the name but the one who took our luggage during our check out was very friendly and genuinely caring.. during our stay he would be smiling everytime we see him.. overall I don’t think I will stay here again. my advise will be not to upgrade and eat outside as there are lots of choices near by

The shower head from our room came out and caused an injury. The hotel did not do anything besides put the shower head back in place, they didn’t have a first aid kit, which seems crazy to me. All they told me that I can go to the nearest emergency room and that’s it. The wasn’t a supervisor in the hotel when this incident happened.

Great hotel, but it is a little old and it shows. The sheets were old, the towels were old, with holes on them. The toilet and shower were clogged. The air conditioning was a little loud. Some of the problems were solved with a call, but it took them more than 4 hour for some to get fixed. Despite these things we had a good time, the food was good, the atmosphere was nice, most of the shows were entertaining, and beach was great. I would stay here again. With good management this place would be 5 starts again.

Do not recommend!

This is not puerto plata , it Sosúa which is dirty the People are uneducated and rude. We had two rooms since my mother came with us. The first one smelled so strong of paint and mold and had mold on the curtains it appears they painted over the mold to hide it but you would see through it. Neither rooms had good AC. Our room had mold on the curtains and comforters. Both rooms lacked water pressure. The food options were Mexican , Italian , or buffet in which they all were no good. The want tips for everything even for bringing you water to your room which we didn’t even ask for. The pool needs resurfacing and severe tile work. If you want to go somewhere cheap and just party go here but if you care about health I do not recommend going here. I couldn’t even get milk for my baby. The WiFi is only good outside of your room and it’s not free you have to pay per phone $3.00 / per day.

The bed is really bad. I want it to do an upgrade to deluxe but I request to see the bed first and it wasn’t that much different. I know this resort will have a huge impact on sales if the bed is changed since I also heard a lot of people staying there talking about how bad and uncomfortable the beds are. Also is the first time I go to a place that water is not served during breakfast.And this was also another subject for people to talk bad about coming to this resort. My suggestion is that water is put outside so they can serve it otherwise you are going to continue losing people to go there with this 2 major concerns by the people that pay to go here.

Although the views of the beach itself was wonderful the service of this establishment is very poor. Upon arrival we noticed our room phone had no dial tone aka didn’t work and so we spoke to the concierge immediately to address the issue which was never resolved throughout our 4 days there. We spoke to concierge everyday mentioning the phone issue and still no one addressed the issue. Additionally, we had dinner at seascape, one of their reservation only dining areas, which was also very disappointing as far as service. Not sure of the servers name but we were neglected throughout our time dining due to asking for clarification on the menu. What should have been at most a two hour dinner turned into 4 hrs which majority of the time was spent waiting around for service AND being signaled to “hold on”. Overall, the service in this establishment is horrendous and needs serious consideration. I will not be staying again nor will I ever recommend this stay to anyone. Thanks but no thanks. Shout out to junior who was one of the only individuals at concierge who helped us upon arrival and with transportation during our stay.
