This is a beautiful place, family friendly, with great staff, delicious food on site. No wi-fi (except im common areas) or clear tv, but with all there is to do, you wont miss it. I will definitely stay here again.
The look and age of the hotel is certainly unique. It looks like it has lots of tales to tell. Cannot wait to wake up in the morning to see everything in the light. Staff were super friendly.
Lost one star for the noisy highway. Also, the room was warm because there is no AC but we couldn’t open the window because the screen was ripped and the mosquitoes were bad. Other than that, the view was lovely. The room was comfy. The staff were nice.

Great stay, enjoyed Ghost Town
Stay was great, just hotel showing its age. Lots of vending machines and ice machines out of order.
Have a resident feline I fell in love with. Definitely going back. Has the beautiful mountains surrounding it with a lake. Absolutely beautiful. Tough getting into only resident around there as only open 5-9
You guys went well above and beyond to extend your hospitality and kindness to me! Gave me the full tour and I was unbelievablly impressed. I love that you preserve all the things we shouldn't forget. Its a collection of our past and who we once were. You had an orange childrens encyclopedia set in the library that I once read quite a bit. I had forgotten it. Made me smile to see them again. I haven't seen then in 45 years! Thank you! I had such a wonderful time and it was very therapeutic spiritually too. I will see you again next summer :)

This was our first time staying at this hotel with a family with three young boys and it's somewhere that we've always wanted to stay and it offered more than expected. It's definitely an older hotel but I think that contributes to the theme of the hotel itself. The rooms are large and spacious and every room has a balcony that looks inward into the Garden area. There's also lots to do so I would make sure you accommodate to have some time to actually complete everything as there is paddle boarding and time at the little beach walking around and checking out the hotel hanging out in the games room and then checking out the ghost town.
Loved the ghost town. Place is old, but very comforting

Perfect, beautiful location.
Rooms are really dated giving you a feel of unhygienic, should be white sheets.
Carpet is nasty
And NO AC
A lot of mosquitoes, cheap fan they provide and you can't open door or window cuz screen is such bad quality will let bugs in.
Should say while booking NO AC
No ac should be mentioned while booking,I had 2 guest families and it was an awkward stay.

It was nice where it was located, been there when the grounds were really nice and manicured, would like to see that again.
The bathroom needed some attention.
It’s a two star room with a five star property and experience! What an interesting historical site and true family owned business experience. An idiosyncratic sight around every corner, and the ghost town has a massive pile of fascinating antiques, the roundhouse full of old train cars worth the half price admission when you book at the hotel. I wouldn’t get the train as an extra though. The food at the hotel is also two star but affordable and gets the job done.
Overall, a truly one of a kind place and worth it as a museum of Trans Canada’s past.
I loved how unique this place is. And all the fun stuff to enjoy like the beach, pool, ghost town, indoor and outdoor gardens, and games areas. Will definitely stay again.
