The property was right in the center of the upper town and the Xmas market was right outside our door. The room was clean and comfortable, and the continental breakfast was really good. The only drawback was the gym was small and disappointing.

What a wonderful place

This place is amazing. A unique boutique hotel with unbelievable staff. I can also confirm they are pet friendly, welcoming our doodle with dog dishes, a bed, treats and a bow tie! And don’t let the term continental breakfast fool you. Their breakfast is full on and very very good. We will be back.

I took a solo trip to Quebec City and stayed at Monsieur Jean. I loved the Christmas decorations throughout the hotel and often sat in the lobby near the fireplace in the afternoons. They even light a fire pit outside in the front of the hotel. The staff were exceptional. Everyone I came into contact with greeted me during my stay and helped me mail my postcards upon my departure. The room was great, the bed was comfy and I like that there was a kitchenette even though I didn’t need to use it. The halls are quiet unless you see people heading to the elevators it was pretty quiet. I will say this is a dog friendly hotel but that was not an issue for me. There was no disruption during my stay. There is a beautiful cocktail lounge downstairs, Le Bijou, which had live music and excellent drinks. Bartenders are great! The location is very much walkable to everything including multiple Christmas markets, shops, and eateries. I would absolutely stay here again.
