The Grand Bavaro Princess is an illusion. We got the honeymoon suite and spa and Platinum. The town getting to the resort was nasty, crowded and disgusting. The check in process was chaotic. The resort stunk so bad. The water around the resort was nasty. Our room AC stopped working and they had no fans. We were sweating all night and woke up in to wet sheets due to the sweeting. The beach was full of seaweed and had a horrible smell. The hotel took no action the first 4 days to remove any of it. All they did was make a path through it. The food was cold, no flavor and nasty. The drinks were warm and the frozen drinks were watery. Only one bartender could fix’s drinks. We had platinum package which was supposed to give your more. All it did was give you better name brand alcohol and 1 fine dinner. No spa was included. No entertainment at all. The pools close at 7 and the better restaurants open at 6 pm only. You have to make reservations. We spent more money for platinum and the Blue selection got more things and entertainment. The buffet was the same everyday cold and nasty. Our mini fridge didn’t work and they wouldn’t fix it. My wife and I got sick off the food the last 2 days. Not worth the trip or money. They allowed people to come to the resort and sell you things. They were aggressive and annoying. This was everyday over 15 times per day.

We enjoyed our time at the resort. There were many dining options. The only thing that brought our score down was our rooms ac, it did not work very well which made for a hot night but they did fix it to get it blowing some so that was nice.

This resort is a great value. Most of the staff was excellent, kind, and hard working. The food trucks on the beach were a great amenity. The resort is very safe with plenty of security, and there are plenty of decent food options. One of the landscapers would bring us coconuts in the morning and cut them for us so that we could enjoy the coconut water. The beach was nice with powder white sand; however, we went in June, and the beach was overwhelmed with seaweed. The workers did a nice job of dealing with it, but there too much seaweed to get rid of. There were a few issues with our room. The refrigerator did not work, and bathroom door would not lock. The internet was glitchy, and the phone in the room would not call out. Check-in was confusing, and the concierge who took us to the room, tricked us into going to a vacation club presentation by a group called Royal Holliday that did not want to take no for an answer. Overall, I would recommend this resort due to the exceptional value.

The rooms and around the property were clean and well kept. The buffet had lots of good options, however it was very bland and needed more flavour. Staffs were very friendly and helpful. The entertainment was excellent. I would have loved for them to play more international music such as R&B. Other than that, great hotel and great experience, I would definitely go back.

This resort did not cater to my needs nor vacation time. 1. It took 3 days for them to send someone to fix the phone after telling them since we arrived in the room. 2. When we finally did get the phone they barely answered as well as taking long to bring items such as towels or toilet paper. The room wasn’t as clean as it could have been. Pipes rusty and moldy, toilet looks worn down a bit, you can literally smell the pipe behind toilet of a foul smell every so often during the day. But most of all I paid for a ALL INCLUSIVE! This did not give much all inclusive, Room service cost $15 and up for the same things on the menu as the sports bar (included in price) and then every restaurant requires a reservation the day before and also once they’re booked up you can no longer go. So that means you have to go to their one crowded buffet that has limited options of food or the sports bar with their menu. All the great options of food and multiple restaurants for breakfast lunch and dinner, are for “platinum princess” members who in other words get the real all inclusive at this resort. The workers do their job but that’s it, nothing more, not very welcoming so if you’re looking for something relaxing, clean, adults only, and FULL all inclusive so not go to Grand BAVARO princess worst resort I’ve been to and I’ve been to amazing resorts in DR.

I have stayed in the same name property many times over the years in Mexico. This is the worst Princess hotel I have ever been. The rooms smell moldy, they demand exchange of towels when asked for a new one, room service costs extra for platinum guests, no premium drink, and the alcohol is watered down. Good luck in finding a reservation for dinner. The staff are not friendly.

Every restaurant had to get a reservation a day before if not your forced to eat at buffet which had average food. The maintenance of rooms was poor they keep forgetting to replace old towels with new ones. Staff was friendly but seemed more eager to help when they knew they get a tip.

It was nice. I had to change rooms the first room reeked of mildew (maybe b/c it was on the ground flr). The other room was much better. The room was clean, the property grounds were beautiful. I found the food at the main buffet to more enjoyable than some of the restaurants for dinner. I enjoyed the smoked salmon for breakfast @ the buffet but not a lot of options for non-pork eaters. The staff was very friendly. I enjoyed the platinum section (separate pool, dining, beach) it was nice & relaxed not overcrowded. I am a solo traveler and enjoy places that have chill, exclusive spaces as an option. This is a family friendly resort so I am glad it didn't feel like a daycare resort. I had a really good time for my first time in D.R.

The grounds are beautiful but too spread out. Rooms are large but not safe for elderly, there are to many steps. The resort has potential but needs some work and tweeking to make it better. Better organization with the tram would be good. The smell of mildew and humidity in the rooms needs to be worked on.

Went on a vacation with my boyfriend and it was a great time. The hotel is huge so be prepared to walk a lot or wait for the little train/bus they have. Dining options are plenty however reserving on the app is a little inconvenient. Check-in was a hassle there were too many people not a lot of organization. Mosquitos are everywhere so bring enough repellent. The night life is okay, not a lot of activities at the hotel other than dj & dancing. Cleanliness & food can be improved. Especially lunch options. A lot of seaweed and not any maintenance to the beach. Other than those minor inconveniences, we made the best of it and had a great time.

The property it self it’s a beautiful property. The staff all were really friendly, attentive and always looking to make customer happy. Things to look out for: it’s huge property to get from point A to B you have to almost always take a trolley, there is several stop along the property and they drive by every 5-10 minutes. Sometimes at full capacity and you have to wait for the next one, under the sun and humidity. There is no elevators to get to the rooms. If you’re staying on the third floor keep this in mind. All the buildings are the same you will get lost trying to find your building. Specially the first 2-3 days of your stay. Tons of mosquitos due to the artificial ponds around the property that are not kept up nor clean it’s a great home for this mosquitos to reproduce. Unfortunately the rooms do smell muggy or humid because the AC doesn’t run properly as well. Some rooms have mosquitos flying around bring your mosquito repellent. The mini bar it’s a hit or miss the small refrigerator does not work therefore drinks are kept warm. The boy that delivers the beer and water sometimes won’t re stock in my case he missed two days out of the 5. They are only allowed to give you 2 beers per day for your room. This wouldn’t be a problem if you have an elevator that will take you to the nearest bar but having to go up down stairs wait for the trolley to take you to the nearest bar, and come back and figure out where is your building it’s NOT worth. I will not be coming back.

Honestly 8/10. The resort is huge and there is a shuffle than can take you around. Food at the buffet is great. Not giving it a 10/10 due to the customer service at the main buffet. The beverages are not easy access so you have to ask staff for one however when you do you will not get the beverage. 5-6 staff will pass you by while you sitting and look at you before asking if you need something and then will take up to 30 minutes to grab it. Majority of the time I finished my food before I received my beverage. Also the main pool is always warm and dirty.
