Very beautiful hotel. Food was good also. Not much of a night life for younger crowds. I wasn’t told we could go to a different Rio that was nearby for the disco since ours was closed for remodeling. My brand new Oakley glasses were stolen from my room the night before I left and didn’t realize until it was time to go home the following day. I would not recommend this hotel for younger adults who like to dance and have fun.

What a fantastic hotel and resort. The entire place is clean and welcoming. Staff are very kind and accomodating. They are always willing to go above and beyond for their guests. The rooms and perfect. A little on the smaller side but fine. Pools are very busy but we never had an issue finding a chair to suntan on. The best thing about this resort is the food. Wow! The quality and choice for food were the best I have ever experienced. We will be going back!

Staff is excellent. Friendly, kind and helpful. The rooms and facilities are always clean and attractive. Staff keeps the place spotless. We were there while some very loud repairs were being made near our room. They have to be made sometime, so nobodys at fault. It did make sleeping late a challenge. Food offerings are very diverse and generous. But the quality wasnt as good as I recall from previous stay. So much has to be prepared in advance to meet guests' needs. Always nicely presented.Just seemed kind of "tired" this time. Its a beautiful resort. We had a wonderful time.

Room temperature was nice a cool all the time. Bed was okay to sleep in but for me too soft. Shower was okay but water pressure was low and no cold water just very hot no in between. Rain shower wasn’t working right because the water pressure wasn’t high enough. Room was wonderful. Ceiling fan only had low setting. Maid had the room nice and tidy. All the staff were very patient do to language barrier. Property was very nice and kept up. This resort is geared to couples and older demographic not solo people.

The staff was friendly and eager to take care of you. The variety of food was impressive. The beach view from our room was great, even from the first floor. They had lots of activities and music onsite throughout the day and evening, and a place on site to book excursions.

Every staff member from the front desk to the housekeeping staff to the servers and activities personnel were outstanding, friendly and willing to assist with whatever we needed. Our room was clean and very well maintained during our stay. The outdoor amenities were great and always clean. We had a Spanish lesson with Melanie and she made it very fun and interactive and we couldn’t wait for our next class with her. The shows were good. My only complaint is that the food in the speciality restaurants was just ok. In a few places we didn’t finish our meals because we didn’t like it. Honestly, the buffet and the sports bar had the best food throughout our stay. Besides that, we had an amazing stay and would definitely return.

It’s about my 7th time down as I find it a very safe area with excellent staff , Alberto, Dalila, Mauro and Monica to name few who work in the buffet area and they and many others are the main reason I keep coming back as it’s feels like my home away from home! My 92 year old mother and aunt along with my sister will be joining me in 2026 to visit your great establishment again.. thanks very much and I feel very confident my mom will also be as impressed as I have been on previous visits.

The room was spotless and cleaned exceptionally well. I would recommend a softer/flatter pillow choice as well vs 2 simiar type pillows. The beach was absolutely amazing. The pools were great, the food and drinks were exceptional. Nightly entertainment was good as well. The grounds were immaculate and gorgeous. Definitely will be back.

Staff was amazing especially Thomas at the Buffet. Grounds and room were impeccable, they worked endlessly to keep things clean. The only thing I can see that needs improvement was the specialty meals.

The breakfast and service were great. The 2ladies making the omelettes and French toast were very good

I purchased a package deal through Expedia that included the flight and the stay at the Riu where we have stayed multiple times. The flight was cancel last minute and we were not able to make it to our destination. We contacted Expedia and the Riu right away to explain the situation but they both refused to gives us a refund or a credit for next time. They asked for proof of flight cancellation saying they have to confirm with the airline before. We provided with all they requested but still refused to give a refund. I feel I was scammed by this two companies. We been customers of both companies for a long time but now they are acting very unfair and unprofessional. Its very unfortunate they are treating tourists this way. We are not booking in Riu hotel or Expedia anymore!!! They converted t what it is supposed to be a vacation into a nightmare.

Yammi the the dance fitness instructor was fabulous, kind, and wanted everyone to feel successful. All staff were very professional.
