Holidays in Parkland

As that old saying goes, 'we're here for a good time, not a long time!' So pull your socks up and book that getaway to Parkland. It's a perfect gateway to the amazing beaches, everglades, wetlands and sandy beaches of Florida.

The country's capital, Washington, sits about 1,450 kilometres to the north of Parkland.

The Florida Atlantic University, Mizner Park and the Gumbo Limbo Nature Center are three fantastic reasons to head to Boca Raton. Only 17 kilometres away, there's enough here to fill up an entire day.

Sitting 60 kilometres to the south, Lummus Park Beach is a great place to spend a couple of hours strolling along the shore. Jupiter Beach also offers some pleasant scenery. You'll find this enticing shoreline 70 kilometres to the south.

The splendour of Mother Nature can be found in numerous places around Parkland. Just 25 kilometres away, Hugh Taylor Birch State Park is a wonderful place to start. Oleta River State Park sits 45 kilometres away and is another pleasant spot to enjoy some peace and quiet.

For a bit of exercise and the opportunity to take some great holiday photos, take a stroll around Trade Winds Park North.

Located 40 kilometres away, Hard Rock Stadium is a favourite for college football devotees. Pack some green and orange, and time your stay with a game featuring the home team, the Miami Hurricanes. You can also throw your support behind the second home team, the Miami Dolphins.

If you want to do a little exploring, add a day trip to Delray Beach to your itinerary. This place is 25 kilometres to the northeast and is the home of Boynton Beach Mall and Spanish River Park. After some more ideas? Boynton Beach is 30 kilometres to the northeast of Parkland and is known for the Schoolhouse Children's Museum and Learning Center and the Art Sea Living Gallery Art Studio.

Located 50 kilometres to the northeast, West Palm Beach is a place that has plenty to offer. CityPlace, the Henry Morrison Flagler Museum and the Palm Beach Zoo at Dreher Park are all quite close. Keep in mind, the Society of the Four Arts and the Norton Museum of Art may be more your thing.

Located 30 kilometres to the south is Fort Lauderdale - Hollywood International Airport (FLL), the closest terminal. Be sure you give yourself ample time to reach it.
