Courtyard by Marriott Paris – A Short and Unfortunate Stay I had booked and paid in advance through Expedia, looking forward to spending a few wonderful days at this hotel. Unfortunately, due to unforeseen circumstances and the loss of my luggage, I was unable to complete my full stay and only managed to spend one night there. I tried to adjust my booking and request a partial refund, but sadly it was not possible. The room, however, was exactly as described—spacious, comfortable, and offering a beautiful view of the Eiffel Tower. The location is also quite convenient, with a metro station nearby making it easy to get around Paris.

The staff at check in and check out were great in assisting with dining tips and transportation. The room was great. The best thing was that it had gigantic windows that looked out on Paris rooftops and cafes. The room was conveniently arranged and tastefully decorated in modern style. This is a great option if you are taking a train out of Gare de Lyon. It is right next to the station and easily walkable.

The room was small but clean, we had a blockage in the sink which over flowed and wet the bathroom towels under the sinks and also the hairdryer in a bag under the sink. There were wires open under the sink because of the mirror bulbs which worried us. We called for reception to have it unblocked a number of times before someone came up to unblock it. This delayed our start of the day as no one could use the bathroom. The next day the same wet towels were under the sink not changed for us to use. Staff were friendly but prioritized cabin crew guests over us, if we were being served and a cabin crew member came to reception they would stop our service and see to them, this happened three times. Other than that the hotel was clean.

The hotel was in a beautiful location but I did have an awful experience. A large brown man, who obviously wanted to harass a Black woman, was wearing an orange arm band that said SECURITY. He literally tried to push me out of the building while I was waiting for an Uber. I had to finally go to the front desk staff who told me of course I could wait in the lobby. Psychopath.

Excellent Stay

Place was great. Covenient location right next to a metro stop. Lots of places to eat nearby. Starbucks next door. Clean hotel. Staff was very nice and helpful. Breakfast was excellent. Room was nice, bed was nice, A/C was great.
