We had a wonderful 2-night stay at Namba Oriental Hotel as a family of three, including our teenage daughter. Our room had three beds and was quite spacious compared to typical Japanese hotel rooms. The amenities in the bathroom were also great. The best part was the hotel’s location—just a short walk to Dotonbori, Kuromon Market, and the train stations, making everything incredibly convenient. Another highlight was the lounge, where guests can enjoy complimentary beer and sake from 2 PM to 10 PM, along with some snacks. Overall, we had a fantastic experience, and if we visit Osaka again, we would definitely consider staying here!

The staff at this hotel were fantastic – friendly, helpful, and always ready to assist. However, the room was a bit too small for my liking. It felt a little cramped, especially with the limited space. Overall, the service was excellent, but I wish the room offered more space to feel comfortable.

Cleanliness can be better. Room carpet was stained and old/worn out. Twin bed didn’t have clean sheets or pillows, had to request to front desk. Free laundry was great and the breakfast buffet was delicious with many options.

The location of the hotel is fantastic as it is right in the middle of all the markets. The lobby and lounge areas seem to be recently renovated and very nice. However, the rooms are very old with little amenities and are in desperate need of renovations to match the new lobby. The room we had, though spacious, was extremely basic and looked like something from the 1980’s. The bathroom had very obvious signs of wear and tear. The only reason I gave it 3 stars and not less is the location.
