Holidays in Northgate

Bad idea — drunk texting ex bae at 3 a.m. Good idea — travelling. It’s time to quit making questionable life decisions and get yourself over to Northgate, Seattle! This vibrant city has a population of around 600,000 people, along with plenty of adventures to check off your bucket list. To reach Northgate from Boeing Field Airport, grab a taxi and head north for 19 kilometres. You'll find this neighbourhood 11 kilometres north of downtown Seattle.

This city is brimming with exciting things to do, and you'll uncover many of them near Northgate. It's difficult to choose the top attractions, but the University of Washington and the Woodland Park Zoo are a couple you shouldn't miss out on. After taking a look at those, you're going to want to continue on to Northgate Mall and the Marion Oliver McCaw Hall. For a better perspective of this lively city as a whole, spend some time in the close-by neighbourhoods of Greenwood and North Seattle.

Space Needle is among the most well-known sights of Seattle. Reaching it shouldn't prove challenging, as it's located just 1 kilometre from the middle of the city.

There are stacks of reasons why so many visitors head straight for the city centre. The Museum of Pop Culture and Seattle Center are just two of them. Alternatively, take a look around the Washington State Convention Center and Bank of America Tower.

Looking for a break from the kids? Look up a babysitter and head to the Sand Point Country Club and the Club Hollywood Casino.

Eager to get a feel for the cultural scene? Try the Fremont Troll and the Henry Art Gallery.

There's nothing quite like the atmosphere of anticipation when a live show is about to get under way. Take your seat and wait for the curtains to rise at the Taproot Theatre, the Neptune Theater, the Green Lake Aqua Theater and the Bathhouse Theater.

The fairways of the Seattle Golf Club and the Jackson Park Golf Course are calling your name. Hone your swing, play a friendly round with the locals and attempt to knock some strokes off your scorecard.

Children are often fantastic travel companions, especially if you go to the right places! For a memorable family outing, head to the Seattle Metaphysical Library, the Marian Gould Gallagher Law Library, the Suzzallo Library and the Varsity Theatre.

You'll find a number of family-friendly attractions in the local area. Carkeek Park, Golden Gardens Park and Boeing Creek Park will prevent your young ones from getting bored and restless.

Make your way outdoors and lose yourself in the views at Saint Edward State Park, the University of Washington Medicinal Herb Garden and the Seattle Tilth Children's Garden.

If all the activity of the city is tiring you out, head to one of the nearby local parks. Ravenna Park, Green Lake Park, Woodland Park and Rose Garden and Hamlin Park are wonderful places to take a relaxing stroll.

Quite often, the easiest way to get the feel of a new place is by heading to the shops. Don't forget to drop in at University Village, Scarecrow Video, Wallingford Center and Ballard Farmers Market.

Peer back through the mists of time at the Nordic Heritage Museum, the Drumheller Fountain, Red Square and the Fremont Rocket. These time-weathered sites have lots of educational stories to tell.

Local holy places, such as Fremont Baptist Church, Sakya Monastery, University Temple United Methodist Church and University Unitarian Church, give you the opportunity to ponder life's big questions in a peaceful setting.
