Girlfriend wanted to show it to the staff before she got her plate but they were ignored her. However, when I went to get breakfast from the buffet they asked me for a buffet card. I wonder why...

Great stay

Location was great for us - our son and his fiancee live in Long Island City and it was a lovely 20 min walk to their place - Box House is right by the bridge with easy stair access. It was also not a long walk to Williamsburg. Service was great. Room was spacious. All in all great. The only issue is that there are just 2 elevators and if there’s a large event on the rooftop it can get a bit jammed. But the hotel staff can help manage through that if it happens.

A quiet, boutique hotel in a family friendly part of Brooklyn. The hotel is in very good condition, very clean and the front desk staff is very courteous. I was here for a short weekend stay, and was very satisfied. It is in walking distance of major thoroughfare with lots of restaurants and local businesses. It is not a chain hotel, but ideal for a quick getaway, especially since you can walk over to Queens over the Pulaski bridge in about 15 to 20 mins.

TERRIBLE: A SCAM

I normally only write great reviews... but this one everyone needs to know about. OVER and ABOVE Hotel.com's cost, this hotel charges you a PROPERTY FEE AND a DESTINATION FEE. We all know most hotels try to get away with a "resort" fee, but this is a resort fee PLUS a "destination fee" Denise at the front desk gets the award for the RUDEST person and the manager Kristina doesnt reply to messages or emails. AVOID this hotel at all costs. They also have zero parking and the parting in the surrounded area is always full. Lastly, while all their competition in the area offers free breakfast, they charge $22 for it, and have allowed Hotels.com to charge $30 for the same thing. It is nothing special.

Very convenient for getting around Greenpoint, and a five minute walk to the subway if you want to take the 7 into Manhattan. There is also a nice bar with decent menu and a great bartender if you want to stay "home" for the night. I have stayed at the Box Hotel 6-8 times, and the only downside is they do a great wedding business, so you do have do deal with some noise from events. But the crowds are always well behaved. No issues so far.
