Fantastic staff - we had a few hiccups with our room but every staff member we interacted with was amazing - Jermaine was a standout, what a nice guy. The room was spacious for NYC and the bed was comfortable. We will definitely stay again.

The location is excellent. Our king bed was comfortable. The room was pretty dirty with dust and rubbish under the bed. The staff were fairly apathetic. Our room was really dark and tiny. The common room on level 2 is excellent but we didn’t realise it was there until we were leaving as the staff didn’t tell us anything about the hotel when we checked in

The room was fantastic, clean and warm (it was a super cold weekend!) The hair dryer didn't worked and I called to request another and they rushed it right up to me. The staff is wonderful.

yes staff nice..but the rooms had no blankets [it was snowing for 3 days and freezing that night] and the general areas were also unheated and not really fit to hang out. In fact the resturant was so cold for breakfast most people chose not to eat there.

I loved my stay! First, the staff were so so helpful and kind. The hotel is so beautiful in the art deco style and definitely romanticized my experience. The room was larger than I expected for a hotel room in NYC and very home-y feeling. I loved the access to the bar (heads up that drinks are pretty pricey but happy hour prices are reasonable). The cafe in the morning was a great place to work from and the food and drinks were yummy and relatively reasonably priced if you’re looking to sit and have your meal there. I’d love to see it in the warmer weather when I can check out the rooftop bar as it was closed during my stay. But I was between Freehand and a chain hotel of comparable price, and I’m so happy I chose Freehand. I’d love to stay again.
