Historical building, unavoidable noise

I had a very uncomfortable stay at this hotel. The noise levels were excessive; I could hear every conversation, footsteps, and shaking in the hallways. The walls are exceptionally thin. When I brought this to the attention of management, I was informed that the hotel is a monumental 200-year-old building, and such noises are to be expected. I was told there is no way around it. I was disappointed to learn this, as I was not aware of this unique condition before booking my stay. The manager stated she would notify maintenance, but confirmed that this is an inherent characteristic of the hotel.

We didn't eat at the hotel, but we did like that they had fresh, free coffee in the lobby. The room was clean and comfortable, but there were no hooks in the bathroom, and no mirror besides the one over the bathroom sink. For ME the bed was hard and lumpy, but the a/c was cold and quiet. All of the staff were very helpful and friendly, especially De'Jon.

Overall the property was clean in the lobby.. The staff members are very friendly… but for the room the area around the bed was dirty and not clean, we asked for new towels and they had stain marks on them.. I should the front desk management the videos I took of the room.. And she goes oh Im going into a meeting now I will bring that up, then she said oh sorry I'm not able to give you any money back because you paid in advance!!!!
