Staff were very friendly and helpful. Room and facilities were good. The area is a great location to get to the "old central area" of Munich. The only down side is that the area is fairly noisy at night .. but no pounding music from night clubs. We were able to get sleep etc. Certainly we would stay at this location again.

The property is located in a very unsafe area - there are 5 strip clubs in the area - men of all nationalities in groups on the street. I was traveling with my wife and 2 teenage daughters. They all felt very uncomfortable and we opted to cancel this booking and stay elsewhere. Nothing against the property - but there was no way to know that this was located in such a unsafe area.

I enjoyed my stay in this hotel. It was cheap but I got a very spacious room with a good shower room. The breakfast buffet was a lovely treat too. The staffs were kind and helpful. It can get noisy at night because of where it’s located but I just closed the window and put some ear plugs and I can sleep very well. Overall, it was excellent for the price I paid. If ever I visit Munich again, I will definitely return here.

Munich hotel

Booked last minute in centre of Munich as I was going to a football match. Apart from having to wait on someone to check me in. This is a good clean hotel. Breakfast was filling and plentiful. Staff were pleasant.

I was looking for a budget-friendly option, but unfortunately, Hotel Royal fell a bit short. The check-in experience was underwhelming and perfunctory. The room itself was mostly clean, but it had a strong smell of marijuana. When I brought this to the staff's attention - this being a non-smoking hotel - they dismissed it as coming from the street. However, I noticed a plastic bag wrapped around the smoke detector, which suggested otherwise. The staff's response was unhelpful; they didn't offer to change my room or provide any air freshening. Other issues included a room safe with a warning not to leave valuables. The hotel's location, surrounded by loud strip clubs and relentless street noise, led to very poor sleep. It wasn't until I used earplugs and noise-canceling headphones on the second night that I was able to get some rest. On the positive side, the bed was comfortable, the blackout drapes worked well, and the breakfast offerings were good. The room was warm and toasty, and it is a short walk to the train station. Additionally, there was a fantastic Szechuan noodle house across the street. Overall, I wouldn't return, but if you can live with the downsides, this hotel could be an option for budget-conscious travelers.

The hotel has excellent cost effectiveness. The room is clean, has writing desk and own bathroom, along with closet. It is incredible to have breakfast included at this price. OK place for one night

Small hotel, small room in a basic hotel for one night. Nothing bad, nothing exceptional. It fitted the bill. Area near Hauptbahnhof in Munich was seedy (as expected). But no sense of threat. Very good value for £54.

The staff were pleasant, however the room was filthy, with previous guests rubbish left under the beds. The bathroom was poorly ventilated with mildrew and mold on the ceiling and grout. Plenty of restaurants arround and conveniently placed for walking tours and sightseeing.

It is very conveniently located near the central station and near many shops and a short walk from the Altstadt. Breakfast buffet was also available and tasty.

The equipment in this hotel is old. The shower gel and shampoo two in one, not my favorite. The reception is hospitable! Breakfast is goo value for cost!

Pretty good, if some street noise is ok for you

Breakfast was very good and pretty rich! Bed was very comfortable, staff is helpful and pleasant. Location is obviously the top factor! The only thing that I didn't like was the noise from the street at night. Most rooms of the hotel are on the street side, and when I asked to change to a more quiet room, they said it was fully booked. Also, it seemed to me that the room had a little of a past cigarette smell, though it is non smoking. Also, the shower is fine, but current could be improved. If you want to store your luggage for few hours after checkout, it's 2eur.

One night stay

The elevator did not work, so I had to carry my luggage through several flights of stairs. The room was very cold and the tv remote control was the filthiest I have ever seen in a hotel.

Hotel and break fast is good. Housekeeping very rude when it is time to check out. Hotel had a plumbing issue so there was not water to take a shower or even to brush your teeth. Staff did not offer a bottle of water to solve the problem. They said that they don’t have water so we have to figure out. Very rude staff in the morning.

The hotel is over a very busy strip bar and the people out side are up all night, I looked at the over all scores and it looked good. the room is clean but bear boned for comfort, old furniture. the staff is nice in the lobby and it does have a nice clean expanded breakfast which for sure will give it higher scores. I tried to switch rooms from the street side to the inside court yard but got no help. 3 noise nights but it is centrally located to all the sites down town. no hotel parking, have to use public garage at 30E each night, they said they will stamp it for half of but when I check out the car it did not give the discount. I can see where all the mixed rating came from.
