Yep. We understand. Wanderlust — it gets right into your bones. So, isn't it about time you organised your next adventure? Mulifanua awaits!
You don't need to spend hours travelling to find Mulifanua, which lies 25 kilometres to the west of the dynamic city of Apia.
Be sure to see Lalomanu Beach, 65 kilometres to the east.
The calming sounds of the natural world await you at Afu Aau Falls. It lies just 35 kilometres away, so you don't have to be stuck in a car all day. Papaseea Sliding Rocks, 25 kilometres away, is another recommended choice.
If you're considering venturing outwards, head 9 kilometres east to Fasito'o Uta. It's here you'll come across Papasee'a Sliding Rock and Lake Lanoto'o. We also recommend swinging by Vaitele, 20 kilometres to the east, for the Robert Louis Stevenson Museum and National Parliament.
You may get the urge to book a room in Lepea for a little bit. This place is 25 kilometres away and close to the Faleata Golf Course, Maketi Fou and the Falemataaga – The Museum of Samoa. Other nearby attractions are Flea Market and Fish Market.
Tempt your taste buds and fill your Instagram with mouthwatering photos by digging into some of the area's richest food and drink offerings. Just remember to hashtag 'yum'!
Once you pull up a seat and peruse a restaurant or café menu, you'll quickly notice that crayfish and taro are some ingredients commonly used in the local cuisine.
While Mulifanua offers a multitude of scrumptious foods, you shouldn't leave without sampling taro root seasoned and baked in oven and oka l’a (marinated raw fish). Considered signature dishes, you'll have to put them on your must-eat list if you really want to taste this destination.
You may be eating yourself into elastic-waisted slacks, but cooked green bananas in coconut cream is worth every calorie. This popular dessert will have your taste buds tingling at the sight of it.
You're heading all the way to Mulifanua, so why not put in the extra effort to memorise a few expressions and greetings in the local tongue? It's bound to make your experience all the more special. 'O fea e te sau ai?' can be very useful. It's how you say 'where are you from?'. 'Ua ou fiafia ua ta feiloa'i', which means 'pleased to meet you', is also rather common.
You can expect excitement in the air around the 1st of June. The locals will be preparing for Independence Day Celebration, a day of nation-wide celebrations.
When it's time to depart, spend the last of your holiday allowance and wave "Toe feiloa'i" to Mulifanua.
With a little planning, making it to Faleolo International Airport (APW), the closest airport, won't be too much trouble. It's 2 kilometres east of downtown Mulifanua.
After some recommendations? See what's up at the Sheraton Samoa Beach Resort and Le Vasa Resort. Crisp sheets and excellent service await!
