Skip the breakfast buffet

Good: nice pool. Friendly staff at the bar and restaurant. Perfect location, nice views from the garden room. Bad: unbelievably annoying staffer at breakfast (Guy) who talked incessantly, sang loudly along with a lounge lizard playlist, and generally made a pest of himself while also failing to do his job of keeping the breakfast buffet stocked. It ruined my mood every morning.

Instead of proper fitted sheets and duvet covers, both beds only had three flat sheets each. Waking up on bare mattress cover and a duvet without a proper cover was unpleasant and unsanitary. Concierge took care of our $28 parking and was apologetic, however I’m out $500 for a sleepless night.

The hotel is a unique one in that the room levels are at the top of the hotel which includes a green foliage area outside and a year round outside pool deck and hot tub area. The staff is attentive, the food at the restaurant, although a little pricey and not gourmet level, is good. We loved the cleaning robot who nicely tells you to get out of her way when you meet her in the hallway. The room (deluxe in our case) was very roomy, with a King bed, and couch. The shower unit was efficient with no water issues. The only issue we had is that for a deluxe room in a hotel such as this, we should not have a received towels with large holes in them from wear. Someone wasn’t paying attention in the cleaning department.

Love the year-round heated outdoor pool, convenient location, walkable to Old Montreal and the port, across the street from Via Rail Station, excellent service! Room is refreshed daily which is rare these days!
