Holidays in Loyetea
Yep. Wanderlust — it gets right into your soul. So, isn't it about time you organised your next adventure? Loyetea awaits!
It sits 720 kilometres to the southwest of Canberra, the national capital of Australia.
Spend a day strolling along the shore and hunting for shells at Bakers Beach or Somerset Beach.
You won't need to be on the road all day to see some nature around these parts. Just 40 kilometres out of Loyetea, Dove Lake is an excellent place to kick back and unwind. Even more tranquil surrounds await at Cradle Mountain Visitor Centre, 35 kilometres away.
Venture outwards and find out what's happening in South Riana, 6 kilometres to the north. Many visitors come here for Gunns Plains Caves and the Wing's Wildlife Park. Alternatively, North Motton is 16 kilometres to the northeast of Loyetea. Visit this locality for convenient access to Shropshire Park and the Ulverstone History Museum.
Approximately 20 kilometres to the northeast, Gawler is a place with lots on offer. Ulverstone Visitor Information Centre, the Wings Wildlife Park and Gunns Plains Caves are close by. That said, Leven Canyon Lookout and Tasmanian Giant Freshwater Lobster Expeditions may be more your style.
Rock climbing and mountain climbing are both quite popular with the locals. These outdoor pastimes will let you see this incredible region from a totally different perspective.
Pressed for time? Joining a few guided nature walks and wildlife spotting tours will help you squeeze as much as you can out of your getaway.
Want to have a little fun off dry land? Tasmania is an excellent place to dive into some rafting and canoeing. They're must-do activities, even for the biggest landlubber!
For an outdoor activity that will interest the entire family, stop by the surrounding area's open-air museums.
Eating is one of life's greatest pleasures, and since you're reading this, you probably think travel is too. Combine your hunger for both by heading out and tasting the local food and drink offerings at various cafés, bars and restaurants in town.
Are you fond of beef? What about salmon? Whether you're wild about them or not, they are two typical ingredients commonly found in the cuisine here.
You don't need to agonise over the menu when you're in Loyetea. Just dive straight in and introduce your taste buds to the region's signature dishes, such as salt and pepper squid and meat pie.
If you're not one to say no to dessert, we don't think you'll be disappointed. Be sure to order peach melba, a scrumptious treat that's sure to hit your sweet spot.
They say life's not all beer and skittles, but there's nothing wrong with relaxing with a cold one every once in a while. While you're here, make sure it's Cascade Special Stout.
To put a few more hairs on your chest, enjoy a couple of shots of Bundaberg Spiced Rum. Drink it by itself or ask the bar person for mixed-drink recommendations.
Do you like talking about the structure, balance and texture of a tasty drop of wine? Or would you rather cork it and just enjoy it? Coonawarra Cabernet Sauvignon and Huon Valley Pinot Noir are what you need to order here.
When it's time to say goodbye, don't leave your last few Australian dollars jingling around in your pocket. Why not buy some postcards as a reminder of this charming region?
Getting to your plane on time can be a stressful experience. That said, you should be right if you're properly prepared. The nearest terminal, Tullamarine Airport (MEL), is 410 kilometres to the north.
