It was a very nice vacation. I thought the cigarette smell in the casino was worse than other properties I’ve visited. But the pool was excellent. The gym was only fair. The 4 restaurants we ate at were hit or miss. Luckily was the best restaurant. Thx.

No Hot Water and Slow Service at Hash House

We did mostly enjoy the stay, but the shower and bathtub hot water never worked correctly. We called for maintenance twice, and both times they assured me that the issue was fixed. But it never was. We wound up taking lukewarm to cold showers for the entire stay. Also, service at Hash House was very slow. I could tell that the servers were rushed and rarely came to check up on us. Even on Monday after most of the crowds had left, the service was slow. We waited about 20 minutes in line to get to the hostess, and then were told it would be an additional 30 minutes to be seated. There was clearly no issue with the number of tables as many were vacant. But the number of servers was definitely lacking.

Security Breach & Zero Accountability — Beware! I rarely leave reviews, but my recent experience at the Rio Hotel & Casino in Las Vegas deserves a severe warning. On August 3, 2025, my wife and I returned to our room before our confirmed late checkout time of 12:00 PM to discover that a $600 Louis Vuitton cologne had been stolen from inside. The “Do Not Disturb” sign was on our door, yet a housekeeper named Darlene admitted to entering our room anyway. She was seen in the hallway near our room moments before we entered. This was before checkout and without our consent. I immediately reported the theft to hotel security. A staff member named Julian took the report, and I later provided the police report, proof of late checkout, and other documentation to the hotel’s risk management team. Despite assurances that the matter was being “taken seriously,” the hotel has since gone silent and has not provided any updates, resolution, or compensation. What’s worse, I have requested key card entry logs and security footage to assist with the investigation, but those have not been provided to me or confirmed as preserved for law enforcement. As someone who travels frequently, I’ve never encountered such a clear breach of guest security and lack of accountability from hotel management. Until the Rio addresses serious issues in their housekeeping protocols and guest safety policies, I cannot recommend this property. Date of stay: August 2025

Let down by Rio and Hotels.com

I was moved twice due to issues with my rooms in the Ipanema tower. The Rio finally moved my to the Masquerade tower. The room I was finally given was $340 cheaper than my original booking. However they weren't willing to give me the difference. Hotels.com wouldn't refund the difference either because they couldn't get ahold of the hotel. Super disappointed. I'll never stay at the Rio again. Hotels.com policies didn't protect me. There The Masquerade tower was dated. There was also a sewage flood in the hallway leading up to the room.

This hotel is my absolute favorite. The beds r extremely comfortable, spacious bathrooms & comfy couch with a nice kitchen set. The pools r awesome & I don’t know what they do to keep them so cool with the outside temps being so hot but the pool temps r perfect. They have Smashburgers, Tony Lukes & Wetzel Pretzels. Love the Rio!!!!

Not having hot water for 2 days if my stay is insane. The amount of money i spent at this property i should be guaranteed hot water. I wouldnt allow this in my rental home. I feel cheated.it is 2025 hot water isnt hard. I am on vaction. this was the most wild thing that has ever happened to me in las vegas. These high prices and lack of amenities is why people are stopping going to vegas. Be better

Do not stay in the Masquerade Towers. The room we stayed in was old, outdated, the shower leaked as the doors were crusted open and the Air Conditioning barely functioned. The bathroom counters were crusted over with calcium deposits. The bed was fine. They should not offer these rooms until they are renovated.
