We booked a family room and loved the place. Traditional style with wonderful views of the mountain, the restaurant was good, the breakfasts set us up for the day's skiing, and the staff were friendly. We would definitely recommend the Candlelight Lodge!
Recently stayed for a long weekend with two toddlers and was the perfect fit for us. One bedroom unit was well equipped and very comfy. Warm with a beautiful view. Will definitely be back!

Clean, well ventilated room with sliding doors to the outside, basic bathroom. Breakfast was included which was appreciated (cereals, toast etc -not hot breakfast). No fresh coffee though - only instant coffee.
Close hotel to the ski village. Over priced for condition of the room.

Don't blow through before you've had a squiz at the Smiggin Holes and Perisher Ski Resort in Crackenback. Crackenback hotels include the Bimblegumbie Mountain Lodge and Pender Lea Chalets. 15 kilometres to the northeast of Thredbo you'll find Perisher Valley, which is home to the Lodge 21 and Snowy Gums Chalet. Blue Cow Zone and Guthega Ski Area are popular attractions to check out when you're in Perisher Valley.
Cooma is located 75 kilometres away from Thredbo and has a population of 7,000. When you're there, you'd be nuts if you didn't have a look at Snowy Hydro Discovery Centre, Centennial Park and Cooma Visitors Centre. If you've got time to spare, keep the good times rolling with a visit to the New South Wales Corrective Services Museum and the Raglan Art Gallery and Cultural Centre. Cooma offers places to stay that should suit everyone, including the Marlborough Motor Inn and Cooma Motor Lodge.
Unless you're going to pitch a tent at Corryong Airport, it might be wise to book some accommodation before you leave. The Mountain View Motel Corryong is close by, or you could always travel into Thredbo's centre. It's 55 kilometres away.
