We stayed at the lodge for two nights. All in all it was a decent room and centrally located to the Icefields. Make sure you request a ground floor room if you have trouble with stairs as there is no elevator. Also the breakfast area is downstairs as well so again if stairs are an issue for you know that going into booking.

The room itself was clean and the front desk staff very kind. However I got NO SLEEP. Our room was next to the breakfast door and at 5am a truck backed in and started loading things in noisy carts, banging into doors and beeping every time the dock went up and down. I was staying at the hotel as I am a wedding planner and needed a good nights sleep before working a 16 hour day. Then the day after we wedding when I got back to our room at midnight and thought I could get some sleep I was once again woken up at 6am by snow boots running up and down the stairs right beside our room and then at 8 a snow blower right outside our room. Myself and my crew are often in lake Louise for weddings and a good nights sleep is essential for the safety of my crew. I will not be booking at the mountaineer in the future after this experience.

Extremely clean and well maintained property. We were in the main building and our room felt brand new. Staff was very friendly. Love the built in boot dryer in the room! Not much that's close by, unfortunately, but proximity to Lake Louise ski area can't be beat. Would def stay here again.
