Ah-mazing Choice for a Kyoto Stay!

Upon departing from Tokyo, my younger brother and I chose this lovely location for our Kyoto stay. Even doing some research before our trip, I didn't realise we were SO close to Nishiki Market! This was a major plus in our book - the main drag was only around 6-7 mins from the hotel, which also meant our Tea Ceremony was close as well. The hotel is very classy, with gorgeous decor and several restaurants as well as spa and hot spring facilities. I wasn't able to take advantage of the hot spring considering my tattoos (it was expected, lol), but little brother said it was wonderful! We did not eat anything on-premises during this stay, so I'm unable to vouch for food offerings or quality but I can only imagine they were great. Our room amenities from toiletries to spring water were replenished daily and the room was very comfortable and spacious. There is a plethora of dining and shopping options all around Hotel Monterey and 7/11, Lawson's, and Family Mart within 3-5 mins in different directions. Even though this property is located right off the street, we had no issues with outside noise at all. Check out process is quick and simple! Be sure to give this one a shot if you're in the area - you won't be sorry.

We enjoyed our time in Hotel Monterey! We got a king bed, it was sooo comfortable! We slept the best here so far of our entire stay. Easy walking distance to nearly anything you need - station, family mart etc! Would stay here again for sure

This hotel is located just a few subway stops from Kyoto - a great choice if you want to be near nishiki market and the pokemon center. Also really convenient for getting to famous attractions like kinkakuji and kiyomizu-dera with direct buses within walking distance! Property wise, service is wonderful and the facilities are excellent.

Decent stay

The marketing photo of the chapel is not the lobby, and I believe it’s only assessable for private event. Anyhow, the hotel comes with public hot bath, with one outdoor and sauna. Good for a long day walk. Room is kinda small for my use as I don’t have ample space to open up my luggage’s. Location is quite decent, easy assess to the locations I wanted to go
