Get your clicker finger at the ready. There's only 1 place to crash within a 10-kilometre radius of Kildonan's centre, so if you want to stay close by, get your skates on!

In terms of a central location, you won't do better than The Burlington Guest House & Restaurant. It's an excellent place to relax after exploring your way around the centre.

If you're still looking for somewhere to stay and none are up to par, check out the Trump Turnberry, a Luxury Collection Resort, Scotland or The Douglas Hotel. The first is 20 kilometres away, while the second is 16 kilometres away. If these don't suit, we'd suggest the Auchrannie Resort, which is 16 kilometres from the downtown area.

High heels or sandals? However you like to roll, you're certain to enjoy a trip to Ayr, 30 kilometres away. With Auld Kirk and Auld Brig to explore, you'll have plenty to keep you busy. The Fairfield House - Ayr and The Fox & Willow are a few of the great long and short-stay options here. 30 kilometres to the northeast of Kildonan you'll find Troon, which is home to The Marine Hotel and Piersland House. The place is nice, however, staff loudly making comments regarding a convicted..... I don't want to use the word here.....lets just say a "disgraced Financier" as the media would say. Laughing and using positive language like "celebrity p********e"..... I found it extremely disgusting. On challenging use of the language in earshot of guests the response was equally as outrageous. One staff member freely excused it, for a reason I do not want to mention on public review as it is not my place to share the reasoning they gave. The fact they thought any reason justified talking like this within earshot of guests is absolutely astounding. On reporting to proprietor I was met with a response of "OK so are you leaving then?" I then asked what his thoughts were on disgusting comments like this he said he will have to ask the staff if they actually said it. I respect the fact your first reaction is to protect staff, however, training on professionalism and standards is lacking. If you want to support staff support the correctly by providing correct training.
