It sits 400 kilometres north of New Delhi, the national capital of India.

Venture beyond Jia and get ready to enjoy some lovely natural sights. Just 17 kilometres away, Dal Lake is a popular place to take in some fresh air. Also consider checking out Bhagsu Waterfall, 25 kilometres away from Jia.

The best snow of the day is in the morning, so set your alarm early the night before heading to Solang Valley.

Make your way over and see what is waiting to be discovered at the Gopalpur Zoo.

Into stopping at the Shiva Temple and the Jawali Ji Temple? They're right near the middle of Gopalpur, 3 kilometres to the south. Alternatively, travel to Jadrangal. It's 5 kilometres to the west of Jia and popular for the Norbulingka Institute and Sherbling.
