This hotel is a tourist trap. The shuttle from the hotel to the airport is 3x more than a taxi! The hallway at night has no light, as a solo traveler female this was highly disturbing. The staff didn’t talk to me at all. The bath spa they have is a joke it’s in the basement where it’s a storage and staff break room, I had to decline it as I was ushered to the spa. All the prices are exaggerated! TOURIST TRAP!

We enjoyed our 4-night stay at Hotel Sultanhan while exploring Istanbul. The location is perfect, an easy walk to the major tourist sites (Hagia Sophia, Blue Mosque, Topkapi Palace, Basilica Cistern), and just around the corner from the Cemberlitas metro stop that provides convenient access to other parts of Sultanahmet and Karaköy. (It rained for our entire visit, so we took the metro multiple times every day—you can either tap a MasterCard or purchase a fare card for a slight discount. It’s less than $1 USD per ride and the trains come every 5 minutes. The system is very easy to navigate with GoogleMaps). The breakfast spread was extensive and the view, even through the rain, was amazing. Staff were friendly, attentive, and helpful. We were initially in room 407, which was only OK. It was not as luxurious as the pictures had led me to believe. It also ran quite hot and had a slight musty smell. We were moved to a 5th floor room with a balcony that was much more comfortable, though still a little warm and the walls were a bit thin. One of the two elevators was also out of service during our visit. Our only other complaint was that the self-use spa was not worth it. For $45, we basically got to use the sauna for an hour. Perhaps it’s worth it to pay extra for the full-service hammam instead. Overall, we were very happy with this hotel for the price ($65 USD/night through Expedia felt like a steal). It was a great home base for exploring Istanbul.

I spent about ten days in this nice hotel and I will definitely back there next time. First of all I am attracted by the very beautiful view of some historical buildings that could be seen from the back a huge glass wall on the top floor where their restaurant is placed. I will never forget the kindness of TUGCE, a young peofessional personal who offered me Turkish Kahve and delicious omlete. You don't want to leave the restaurant after finishing your breakfast because of the amazing view of the sultan ahmed and the blue mosque.

We absolutely loved our stay at Sultanhan Hotel. The room we had with a balcony and view of the city was exceptional. The breakfast room with views of the Haija Sophia and Blue Mosque was a delight and served the most amazing assortment of delicious breakfast foods. We loved walking from the hotel to all of the sites in the Old Town area because everything was nearby. It felt safe as well. The service was also amazing and they were very helpful arranging transportation to the airport. i would highly recommend the Sultanhan Hotel to anyone visiting Istanbul!

We went to their restaurent for breakfast befor sunrise and had a beautiful view of sunrise behind Blue Mosque. Friendly staff, courteous and polite. I travelled to other cities of Turkey and left my extra luggage with this hotel for free of charge.
