It's situated 440 kilometres south of Spain's capital, Madrid.

We all know that spending time outdoors is good for your health and happiness. With that in mind, why don't you make your way 30 kilometres out of Istan to Pileta Caves? El Chorro Gorge, just 40 kilometres away, is another excellent option.

Whether you'd like to learn more about the cultural and religious aspects of the area or just relax in the peaceful atmosphere, Ermita de San Miguel is the place to go.

Remember to visit other nearby sights, such as Puerto Banus Marina and the La Quinta Golf. You will find them 11 kilometres southwest in Benahavis. Not ready to give back the hire car just yet? Orange Square and Funny Beach are in Marbella, 12 kilometres to the southeast of Istan.

Both tourists and locals often make the trip to Ronda. This place is 25 kilometres away and pretty close to Puente Viejo, Puente Nuevo and the Puerta de Almocabar. If you're staying on a while, don't miss the Museo Lara and El Tajo Gorge.
