Staff was very welcoming. Bed was very comfortable. Dining room was nice and breakfast was tasty. Very good service. Property is in need of some updates, needs a refresh and certain areas need to be replaced such as carpeting and showers.

Definitely needs TLC

Definitely needs updating. The mattress felt like it was original to the opening in 1986. The trim and doors were rough, as was the lack of room in the bathroom. Had to straddle the toilet to close the door. The exterior railings on the balcony had most of the paint peeled off and rot. The brickwork on the grounds around the pool had grass growing between them, from lack of maintenance. Inn on the Lake may have once been a wonderful place, but my first stay is my only.

Lovely staff. Rooms are quite dated (no elevator which wasn't an issue for us but may have been for some). Pool was nice, and restaurant was tasty.

This place is so close to being awesome. It was the rustic feel of the Dirty Dancing resort. But it needs a little more. More than anything though it needs a cultural change. There was no meaningful management on site and all the staff just acted like dogs that had been beat too much. None knew the first thing about the property, the area, the menu, or customer service. Or at least they acted like they didn't know and didn't care. And then there were some really odd things. Like, lots of hotels put a small room fee hold on the credit card. As part of the excruciatingly long 'we need to see your id' check in process we were told that they were putting money on our card and we wouldn't get it back unless we came at checkout and specifically asked for the charge to be reversed. And they were kind of jerks about it.

We asked about returning to the property for 2 nights welles we returned they in 2 days. They said yes but the rate on wednesday was going to be 242 per night. for as old as the property is and on those two nights. I was very surprised the the rate was 100 a night higher than a Friday and Saturday stay.

Near the Airport.

When we arrived and saw the property so close to a major highway and interchange, I was worried about noise. However our pool view room was very quiet. We had to leave a refundable deposit that needed to be backed out on departure, something have not encountered in a while. The restaurant was delightful. It appears that this was once a resort but except for the pool, amenities are in various states of disrepair. The rooms are much nicer than other Halifax airport lodgings we’ve experienced.

My wife and I had a really nice time at Inn on the Lake. The staff was kind, helpful and accommodating. Our room was clean and the lake was beautiful. The Inn itself could use some updating especially the air conditioners in the rooms. However, the place was clean and was conveniently located close to Halifax and Dartmouth.

Lovely stay

Lovely Victorian style hotel on Lake Thomas. No elevator, the receptionist at the desk helped me carry the luggage to the third floor. We had a balcony. The only problem with the room was a shortage of outlets to charge our electronics and and we would have referred more artificial light in our room.

Great stay

This was a last minute stop on my way out East from Ontario. I expected to stay one day, but it is so beautiful here i had to stay an extra day. The rooms are very comfortable and clean, air conditioning is excellent considering it is so hot outside. I will likely stay here again on my way back home. Thank you for the great accommodation.
