Clean room. The staff was excellent and the property was a delight. If you are looking for something close to city center this is a bit out of the way. It’s still walkable in any direction but to get to the train station will take you about 20 minutes. Now the great factor about this location is the easy access to Ponte Vecchio, Ufizi gallery and Vivilo’s cafe. The affogato at Vivoli is absolutely to die for. They have various different flavors and types of coffee. If you don’t believe me look it up. You can’t miss it. The hotel is close by to Gustapizza. This place is just as amazing. The entire region is fabulous and you can’t go wrong staying at the Ballestri. I will definitely stay here again. Oh and pay for the balcony room. It over looks the River Arno. You can have morning coffee with a pastry and soak in the views.

We loved everything about our stay at Hotel Balestri. The location right by the Arno River was a quick, easy (flat) walk to every major museum and attraction in Florence. Excellent location and convenient to get to museums and cathedrals. The view from the balcony is spectacular, staffs are very attentive, the service is exceptional. The only comment was the scent of the sewage lingering in the hotel.

The room was amazing, we stayed in the junior suite and the views along the Arno river were perfect. Hotel was perfect location and within walking distance to every major site. Breakfast selection was mediocre, but it was free. Only taking off one star because the front desk were not friendly to us. It felt we didn’t exist at times walking in and out of the hotel without a greeting or acknowledgement.

Excellent, elegant, small boutique hotel in the middle of all the important places to go in Florence, I say it with the knowledge of someone who has lived there twice. Tthe service is exceptional, welcoming, kind, friendly and in disposition to help. I had the luck to spend Holloween night in their bar and they went out of their way to decorate it. I plan to go back if I return to that beautiful city, I thank all the staff for making my stay so pleasurable!
