Been up 'til dawn way too often lately? Dying for a break and a few early nights? Fayette might just be the answer. It sits among the forests and lakes of Wisconsin — nice and off the beaten track. (We bet you'll feel so relaxed, you'll be under the blankets by sunset!)

It lies 1,150 kilometres to the west of Washington, the capital of United States of America.

Head out of Fayette and get ready to experience some unique natural attractions. Just 35 kilometres away, Cave of The Mounds National Natural Landmark is a great place to kick back and relax. We also suggest Lake Le Aqua Na State Park, 40 kilometres away from Fayette.

Hop on the chairlift at Sundown Mountain, take in the white mountain scenery and then carve your way back to the lodge. For more snowy thrills, hit the trails at Cascade Mountain Ski Area.

Venture further afield and find out what's happening in Blanchardville, 15 kilometres to the northeast. Many travellers come here for Yellowstone Lake State Park and the Nick Engelbert's Grandview. Alternatively, Shullsburg is 25 kilometres to the southwest of Fayette. Stop at this locality for access to the Badger Mine and Museum and Roelli Cheese Haus.

East Dubuque is situated 55 kilometres away from Fayette and is an important part of the region. Close by sights include the University of Dubuque, the Loras College and the Diamond Jo Casino. Got more time to kill? The Mystique Casino and the Grand River Center are also within reach.
