The nation's capital city, Edinburgh, sits about 260 kilometres to the southeast of Eyre.

Look for seashells to start a collection or try to spot critters like seabirds and crabs at Luskentyre Beach and Barra Beach. You'll find these delightful pieces of coastline 60 kilometres and 85 kilometres away, respectively.

You'll discover some nice natural attractions in the vicinity of Eyre. Why not set out 8 kilometres to Old Man of Storr? Alternatively, soak up some of nature's best work at Quiraing, 17 kilometres away.

If you're thinking about travelling further afield, journey 6 kilometres northeast to Portree. It's here you'll come across Kilt Rock and Skye Riding Centre. We also suggest stopping by Isle of Raasay, 19 kilometres to the southeast, for Raasay House Activities Centre and Portree Harbour.

Whether it's for a bit of retail therapy or to take in the sights, locals and travellers alike often make their way to Gairloch, 40 kilometres to the northeast. Gairloch Beach, Big Sand Beach and the Gairloch Heritage Museum are close by. Of course, don't pass up Rua Reidh Lighthouse and the Inverewe Garden either.
