Disliked: Cleanliness, amenities, property conditions & facilities
We have been doing a 2 week cross country trip and this one of our last stops and was by far the most disappointing. We love BWs and like to get one with a hot tub since we’re road trippers, but theirs was not in service (no big deal, it happens) When we first checked in we were given a room on the first floor; this room looked like it was designed for guests staying with dogs (hard wood floors and sparse) which we didn’t mind as we are a dog family, but after a quick check around the room I was appalled by the lack of cleanliness and instructed everyone to not unpack. The floors had hair all in the corners (human) as well as crumbs. The beds did not have fully zippered mattress covers, but showed no signs of bugs. No phone in the room or headboards. It looked like we were in a dirty hostel and there was a major gap at the door where light was passing through and seemed insecure.
I will say that the lady at the front desk quickly gave us a new room which was on the second floor. This room had carpeting but still had large crumbs (literally Fritos) so it may have also not been vacuumed. This room did have a phone and headboards as well as mattress covers. However the room overall looked like it hadn’t been kept up, loose fixtures, cheap lamps, bathroom door that wouldn’t shut fully. Not real big deals, but what set my husband off was no coffee pot (it was listed in the room amenities).
I have no idea how this got an “excellent” rating.
