My stay this time around was an improvement over the last. The lift was working so I didn’t have to haul my luggage up multiple flights of stairs and my room was much more ventilated than the last. I still believe the hostel could benefit from a functional AC system as it does get very warm.

Everything good, showers need work though.

I've stayed here multiple times now. It's very clean, comfortable and just what I needed for 1 night's stay. The showers could do with being fixed up, especially the locks on the doors also.

Get what you pay for.

For a budget hotel you get budget rooms. But they are very noisy, very warm and ours just smelled of damp/ sewerage from the drain. Was rather unpleasant but for one night it served a basic purpose. Not much sleep was had because of how warm the room is. Rather disappointed during summer there’s not cooling facilities like a fan etc. especially when it’s 30c out during the day.

Just awful. 33 degrees no air conditioning or even a fan the room (and most of hotel) felt like a sauna. No clear indications of where showers were and bathrooms and showers were always in less than clean conditions. For summer weather this was not the place for us and wouldn’t stay again at anytime of year.

The check in was a complete nightmare as they couldn’t find my reservation, the member of staff on check in was awesome though and got it sorted eventually, I was just so tired I needed to get to bed 😂. This was my first hostel experience ever so was a bit eye opening and I was a bit worried about trying to make up my bed while others were sleeping but by the time I’d woke up they had already gone so I wasn’t made aware if I’d caused disturbance. I would stay again though if needed

The hostel did not look the same as shown in the picture. Went last week of June & the weather was very hot that time & rooms did not have air conditioning at all. They only offered a fan which was not really helpful. They have a communal bathroom that looks very old with poor maintainance, water leaks & stuffy bathrooms.

Buffet breakfast is definitely worth it if you pay in advance for £7.50, or £9.50 on the day. Most staff were nice and helpful and understanding. Lucked out staying here on a warm weather weekend though - the rooms have poor to no ventilation due to small openings in windows, no cross flow, no dedicated fans in each room, and no aircon. First day was 33 celsius so the room was an absolute stiffling sweatbox making for very poor sleeping conditions. Took 36 hours to finally get a fan in the room but it did little to help reduce the temperature even though the outdoor temperature dropped over the three days to below 20 celsius. The room remained very hot. In winter I'm sure the place is nice and cozy but on proper summer days beware, or ask for a lower level room because you can feel the heat increase each floor you go up. Bathrooms and showers on some levels are questionnable, no hooks or shelves, cramped width and height. Only one lift in the building which was broken during a peak period. The place gets pretty lively at the bar so can be good for sociability when the adults outnumber the students. Luggage lockers sting a bit, £2 two hours, £6 six hours, £8 hours. Late checkout to 1pm £5, so consider your plans so you dont get stung for both.

How did they survive COVID?

While the beds were very comfortable, the lack of airflow in the rooms was stifleing. The windows only open 2 " and the fan's they use produce almost no air. Luckily someone else had pushed the wi dow through the track, so it was easily wide ed and we put the fan in the wi dow, upside down to get a mediocre, but life saving air flow.

The elevator was broken for 3 days. 2 of the 5 showers on the floor that we stayed on were broken. The room had no airflow and was like 28 degrees inside during the night. I would never stay here agian.

Generators are excellent and I’ve never had a bad time at one except for one time in Paris. This Generator is excellent. They did have students at this one during my stay however security was excellent at keeping them in their rooms and well behaved during their stay. Staff are helpful and extremely accommodating. They let me use office space so that I could get work done. They made sure I got checked in early and had everything I needed including a charger. The staff were absolutely AMAZING and that’s an understatement. Kudos to this Generator. This was definitely the best staff I’ve ever encountered at a hostel or hotel. The rooms were cleaned daily. Their shower and toilets were also very well and up kept. Not a single shower stall was broken or dirty.
