I really wanted to love The Ranch. I've been wanting to go for years to Death Valley and knew i'd stay there. Check-in was easy and all staff in person were great. The ice-cream parlor and gift shop areas were great. Our problem came at 3am when we were woken up by rustling noises to find a mouse on the counter. After calling the front desk they sent security who said he was delayed looking for a trap that couldn't be found. He was nice but couldn't really help. Luckily i had wipes to clean items near mouse droppings. We asked if he could get us a room change which he did. So we lugged all our stuff up the stairs (there's no elevator) at 4:30am to try and get some rest. I was disappointed that none of the hotel staff apologized or offered any type of discount for the issue. There was an uncovered outlet where you could see drywall gaps so i am guessing the mouse came from the wall.
