It is a nice property but the man at the front desk was highly combative from the second I walked in the door. I am the owner of a construction company and had been in the field all day helping my guys so I understand I was dirty and needed to get to my room to clean up. He insisted on me using a card of his choosing for the deposit I declined and swiped the card I wanted to which was successfully charged (they were both Visa’s) went to my room cleaned up then went to eat. Upon returning he demanded that I go back and swipe the card HE wanted, being exhausted from the day and not in the mood to argue with this petulant child any longer I complied swiped the card and headed to my room only to find out he had disabled my door so I could not enter the room. When I asked why my key was turned off he just laughed and smirked then informed me I could go ahead and check out now with no refund. The most combative thing I said was this whole situation was pretty freaking petty. I expected way more from Marriott not to be treated like trash just because I put in a hard days work. I will be returning to staying exclusively at la Quinta again where I can at least check in without being harassed
