Dirty room - Mold smell

Room smelled like mold when we first checked in - I asked to change rooms, and the second room had less of a mold smell. The room had been cleaned but not well. There were cheerios and a toy car under the ottoman, a cheerio in the toilet, a used toothpick on the floor, and the walls and doors had smudges of gunk on them. While the staff was friendly, when I asked for a refund they refused, and also never answered the phone when hotels.com called to request on my behalf.

Overall good stay, the room had some sticky spots on the carpet and the bathtub didn’t drain properly. The breakfast was not good.

The room noises from the rooms near us was relatively quiet. (We opted for a different hotel from last time we were in the woodlands due to the slamming doors from housekeeping and fellow hotellers being so loud we couldn't sleep in) The pool is half shaded and half exposed making it ideal to not get too burnt. The breakfast was decent. The few staff we came into contact with were friendly. We will be staying again.
