As soon as we arrived at Marino Beach Hotel we were met with the most outstanding, attentive, staff who provide service with a smile. The rooms are spacious and the hotel is spotless throughout. The breakfast was varied and plentiful. The free city tour and shuttle to the beach/lounge was a great.

The hotel has a lot worthy of five stars: the rooftop infinity pool, the private beach, spa, and wonderful cleaning, valet and poolside staff. Unfortunately, the front desk reception and some of the wait staff in the restaurants act are rude, unhelpful or happy to keep you waiting. At times, they act like guests are nothing more than an annoyance to them. Another issue is that their room categories don’t match what is online. I’ve stayed here 3 times in the last 3 years and 2 of those times they tried to put in a lower class room upon arrival. It’s hard to know the real cause of this issue but the front desk staff certainly don’t help make it better.

Spacious and very clean room. All staff were lovely, ready and willing to help. Great choice of restaurants and/or bars in the hotel, difficult to choose. Breakfast buffet superb. What more can i say!

Over priced and rooms are dirty or just weirdly designed. Everything is priced to extract as much money out of foreign travelers as possible. The staff was nice, but $100 for a basic dinner for two people or $30+ for breakfast per person seems outrageous given the cost of living on the island.

Had a very enjoyable 2 night stay at Marino Beach. Room was lovely and clean. The staff were polite and courteous. Would definitely stay again if we're in Colombo.
