To get a true sense of the city (and avoid any FOMO), take a detour into Cheppad — a neighbourhood located 25 kilometres to the southeast. Trivandrum International Airport is the nearest airport and the jumping off point for many travellers. Once you've hauled your suitcase from the luggage carousel and strolled out of the arrivals area, you'll need to travel 100 kilometres northwest to get to Cheppad.

Cheppad has plenty to keep you busy, but that doesn't mean you should skip its surrounding neighbourhoods. Haripad, Mavelikara and Kayamkulam are all worth a look.
