Everyone was so nice and helpful. Beautiful view. Comfortable room, although the pillows were hard. We did listen to “club Solaris” program. Had no intention of buying in and informed the Rep before it started. As the time went way over time we left. They weren’t very happy and we didn’t get the promo’s promised. If you aren’t interested don’t agree to listen. Would definitely return to this resort.

Definitely an old Resort. The food all taste the same like rubber. The fruit didn’t taste fresh. All the bread was dry old tasting. They didn’t do much to interact with the adults. Definitely worth paying the extra $500-$1000. To stay at a better place. So many little kids. Wasn’t what I was expecting. I’ve always stayed at the Rio’s. Lessoned learned.

Place was ok. Staff was amazing, food could’ve been better. The main breakfast restaurant / dinner is always hot! If your trying to get away from kids, this is not the hotel. Kids all over the place & parents do nothing. Especially at night in the lobby. Jacuzzi is taken up by kids, & the staff won’t say anything. My last night there I found a roach on my headboard. One more thing, timeshare agents trying to get you everytime they see you. Very annoying!!

Everything was perfect except the club membership meeting that lasted too long and the manager was rude when we said 2 hours was too long and she wanted 50 more minutes. We did not go there to purchase a timeshare. Gabby was sweet however.

The hotel itself is clean and well kept, The food was not good!! We stayed for 5 days and the menu did not vary. The drinks suck! If you need a quick getaway, this is your place. If you want to enjoy some good food and decent drinks then not so much .

Hotel was “sold out”

I had a confirmed reservation for Royal Solaris with a lagoon view. At checkin I was told they “oversold” and would love me to GR SOLARIS with an “upgraded” room. They shuttle us to the next hotel to find out that our upgraded room is a view of another hotel. I asked the front desk for the upgrade we were promised and the supervisor Anakaren said they have nothing available but we were welcome to go back to the original hotel if we wanted. The hotel that was oversold and has no rooms. Very disappointed with the service— no one here seems to care. I would NOT book here unless your ready to deal with unexpected changes and lies.

The food was horrible! The buffet was tiny, no kids options and only Mexican food. We got sick almost right away. This is not a place for families. We ended up leaving the hotel after 3 days and moving to another at our own costs. You can’t even sit around the kids pool to enjoy your kids. The kids club is very small and boring. It took 4 requests to get a cot to the room, there was no balcony and no opening window in the room. It rained much of the time we were there and there was really no indoor space to relax. The resort is falling apart and not handicap safe. The pathways around the pools are small. Pay the fee extra bucks and go somewhere better. I felt duped by how this resort was presented online.

Honestly I can’t believe this is even rated as highly as it is. It was so awful. The food, the staff. The coffee is so bad and I know that sounds so crazy but I don’t even understand how it could be that bad. We also had no hot water or tv for the week so that was fun. No one helped out with that. I would love a partial refund. Very disappointed

Can’t complain too much as this resort was beautiful, you get exactly what you see. The hotel is located in a very safe zone of Mexico where the national guard are the police force. They walk around the beaches and drive around often to ensure safety of the guests of zona hotelera. The staff is very nice aside from the employees who are trying to get you to buy a membership to the hotel. The only complaint I can really say I had was the buffet food. The options were almost always the same. Slight changes depending on “theme.” This hotel targets the European audience and therefore the food is more their taste and not authentic Mexican food at all! No mexican tacos, elotes, flautas, etc. the only Mexican food available everyday were chilaquiles. The pools are very crowded after 12 noon and will be this way until about 6pm. Hot tub was not always warm which was a downside as it was very windy during our stay making it feel a little cold. The beach had red danger flags posted our entire 7 day stay so beach swimming was very minimal. The area the hotel is located in has busses driving during the day for $1 USD you can ride this bus to the nearby beaches and shops. Definitely worth visiting as you will get breathtaking views and the shops have amazing prices for authentic Mexican items.
