Want to stay close to Boulevard? With only 1 hotel within 10 kilometres of its centre, you've gotta move quick!
City slickers will want to set up shop at the Live Oak Springs Resort, as it's the only available hotel close to central Boulevard.
One more option is the Hotel Hacienda Santa Veronica, which is an awesome option if you're happy travelling 30 kilometres to the centre.
If you've still got itchy feet, why not head out and discover more of the California region? Outdoorsy types should plan an outing to some of Boulevard's stunning beaches, mountains and sandy beaches. A few other gotta-see sights to put on your hit list are art galleries. Fun-loving visitors can also have a go at popular regional pursuits like snowboarding and skiing.
Santa Ysabel is another place where you can kick back and get to know the room service menu. Sitting 55 kilometres northwest of Boulevard, it's where you'll find the Smith Ranch and the Julian Pioneer Museum. Santa Ysabel hotel options include the Apple Tree Inn and San Diego Spiritual Retreat Center. Or, you could stay in Borrego Springs, 60 kilometres to the north of Boulevard, where you can pick from the Borrego Springs Resort Golf Club and Spa and Stanlunds Inn And Suites. Anza Borrego Desert State Park and the Peg Leg Smith Monument are up there with the most popular points of interest to explore in Borrego Springs.
Sitting 80 kilometres west of Boulevard is San Diego County, a regional centre with a population of 1,300,000. It's where you'll find some sweet attractions, like the Balboa Park Golf Course, Chicano Park and the Balboa Park Carousel. Why not also check out the Desert Garden and the Centro Cultural de la Raza? San Diego County offers places to stay to suit most budgets and tastes, including the Rancho Valencia Resort and Spa and Fairmont Grand Del Mar.
Unless you're going to set up camp at General Abelardo L. Rodriguez International Airport, it's probably a good idea to book some accommodation. The Marriott Hotel Tijuana is not too far away, or you could always travel to the centre of town. It's 65 kilometres away.
