Regular hotel. Staff is pleasant. Rooms are nice No coffee in the morning, you have to stand in line for 30-40 min to get a starbucks. Bedspread had someone elses makeup on it (i dont wear), and it makes me question the cleanliness. It really grossed me out.

It states that there’s valet which there is not. The signage when you do pull up shows that you will have your car towed away but yet how else do you unload your vehicle no bellhop or valet to assist. Overnight parking $45 a night with In-N-Out privileges was nice but excessive for that hotel. It looks like it seems like it would be a nice hotel but really it’s all surface. The room we were in was at the very end of the hall was most definitely an afterthought room. If you were a large person there’s no way you could sit on the toilet along with trying to get toilet paper. The shower leaked the entire time like could not turn it off completely dripped the entire time. I actually thought from the pictures online. The hotel was going to be really great and hope to have really great views got an OK view. The hotel definitely has seen better days and probably was once a really nice hotel probably should not be that high in price for the hotel that you get And that you have to do everything yourself. I think if it would’ve had valet services where someone would’ve been there to assist you might feel differently.

We had several incidents where we asked for things like early check in, a cup for our coffee that wasn't there in the room, etc, that were 'forgotten' by several people. The balcony was barely large enough for two to stand on when we had the impression we could possibly spend time there enjoying the view. Parking was very expensive which was not disclosed ahead. There was an unexpected fee because we used Expedia which was not disclosed. The service at the restaurant was odd. The waitress would come and go but disappear for 15-20 minute intervals. It was interesting staying there. We did enjoy the facility and views.

Front desk staff is friendly and very helpful. They went out of their way to be accommodating. Waited too long for a server at breakfast so I ended up leaving but I love the bar at Art Bar and the Italian restaurant has delicious food and great wine selection.

Overall we got a great room with a great view. But We asked for 2 adjoining rooms and called ahead to confirm. But when we checked in we did not get them. Instead we got a noisy party group next door that woke us up at 1am.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Royal Sonesta. We were only there for one night, but the location is great. It is on the river and in the heart of Boston. In addition to enjoying the River Walk, we were only steps away from shopping and restaurants and only about a 15 minute drive from TD Garden and the North End. We will definitely stay here again!
