The hotel was empty and they still put me in an adjoining room. The door to the next room was so thin I heard every movement, including a very sick toddler’s night.

I have stayed at this hotel for years. The change in ownership to Hilton has resulted in some changes. The staff remain friendly, patient and helpful. This includes the door/bellmen who are always kind and engaging. However this is the second visit where the checkin lines have been extremely long - seemingly understaffing the front desk at key times. The towels in the rooms have quite possibly shrunk and don’t seem to match the quality of the hotel. As a long (enough) time guest, I was disappointed they did away with massive gingerbread house that was a holiday centerpiece and tradition in the front lobby. My loyalty to the hotel and location remains. But I would be remiss if I didn’t note a couple of the changes I’ve seen since the days they were independently owned. Proximity to the Back Bay neighborhood, the Common, South End restaurants and other neighborhoods is ver convenient. And I will continue to stay here.

The heater in the room was broken and the maintenance had to give us a space heater. We appreciated the front desk taking off some charges, The bathroom had a small bug and the side of the bathtub was scratched off. Also, by the bed, the wall paper was coming off

Park Plaza is basically a convention hotel and very old. Rooms are small and in need of an upgrade (e.g. shower is in bathtub.) we took great exception to the daily "destination fee" of $40 which supposedly covers things (gym, wifi, etc.) that most other hotels we've stayed at offer for free. Probably won't stay there again
