I called prior to arrival about room service availability on Christmas Eve 24th and Christmas night 25th and was assured it was open 24/7. This was not the case. I planned to order room service for 4 people and have snacks while opening gifts in my room. We did not shop at Dunne’s due to being told room service would be available. We didn’t starve but were very disappointed at this misinformation. Otherwise, good stay.

I highly recommend the Sheraton Athlone. The room was very large, clean, and comfortable. Check-in was very smooth and staff members were pleasant and helpful. Parking was free,convenient, and extended through the date of check-out. The breakfast was outstanding. There are a number of restaurants in the vicinity as well as shopping.

All-in-all a great spot to stay in Athlone. This is our second time in this hotel and certainly would return again. Exceptional location with many shopping and eating options at walking distance, direct access to Athlone Towncentre and underground parking included. Rooms are spacious and comfortable. Ask for directions operating the temperature control in the room. It was either too cold or too hot, never managed to keep it steady at a comfortable temperature, in the rapidly changing fall days of our stay. Restaurant service and food were very good. We tried La Provenze, the lobby bar, room service and the breakfast buffet and all were very good and the staff were always pleasant and ready to help.
