Nice hotel BUT in a red light area far from centre

The hotel is ok. Modern and clean but it is huge - so huge we had to queue for 30 minutes to check in. There are not enough lifts for the huge numbers of guests so one waits 10 - 15 minutes for a lift which stops at every floor. Also the location is dreadful - in a very rough red light area full of strip clubs and sex shops, very dangerous at night and 15 minutes by taxi to the centre of Athens.

Where to begin? Day one of six. Completely ignored by the breakfast waiter. Rude hostess. Was told while I waited four hours for my room to be ready to check out the spa. I went to the spa and stood at the desk for seven minutes While the receptionist was on the phone, speaking in Greek and completely ignored me. The funky designed shower sprays water all over the bathroom to the point of flooding! People waiting for the elevators to take them where they needed to go Wier backed up 10 to 15 minutes. One man with his luggage, went up and down the elevator three times before it took him to the proper floor. Waiters and people at the pool were extremely rude! I do not recommend you to stay at this hotel. Unfortunately, it looks beautiful on the outside and ugly on the inside. However, I don’t think there are very many choices for a 4 to 5 star hotel in Athens. But the grand Hyatt should not be rated five stars!

The room was quiet, the staff was helpful and accommodating. The intercity rail stop is about a 15 minute walk, the public bus stop is very close. The hotel does provide an hourly shuttle service to downtown athens. The hotel is beautiful but it is located in a less appealing neighborhood. The background music in the breakfast area was a bit loud for our taste.

This hotel was 10/10. Amazing service and the staff were so helpful and friendly. The views from the rooms and rooftop were stunning. Our only issue was that the room had what could be considered as mold on the floor where the shower ends and the hardwood began for the rolling privacy door for the shower. I would definitely stay here again though.

Just got back from a 7 night stay at the Grand Hyatt in Athens. 5 stars seem like a pretty big stretch. Our beds were incredibly firm and i did not sleep well my entire stay. The rooftop pool is nice and has a great view. The only hot tub is located in the spa with the indoor pool, it is room temperature at best. We were located on the 3rd floor and the carpet was in desperate need of deep cleaning with stains everywhere. The elevators are not very efficient and multiple guests were complaining that it took them 15 minutes to navigate them. The positives are the location, rooftop pool, and the staff is relatively friendly.

Good service and attention to detail. Check-in wasn't good. Broken toilet paper dispenser was never fixed. Mini bar wasn't full when we arrived and you tried to charge us for stuff we didn't use. The elevators are not efficient. The signs for ingress, egress, and in and around the hotel need improvement. Otherwise, excellent.
