Very nice property situated in a gorgeous area, walking distance to tons of shopping and restaurants. We had no problem getting all over the city from the location. It took a moment to get used to the very steep stairs but that adds to the charm of the property. We also enjoyed the little cat that lives there! The staff was helpful and polite. We also appreciated the complementary snacks for guests. The room overall was nice and clean. We were provided with clean towels every day. Would recommend or stay here again!

We had a terrible experience. An employee entered our room and stole our cash and cards while we were away within 24 hours of checking in. We left the do not disturb sign, but that didn't stop their employee with keycard access to go into our room and go through our things. There is video evidence and we have a case open with the Amsterdam police to get to the bottom of this. We had to stop our holiday to go deal with management, the police and having to go to the police station to file a report. The bed was also broken and sunken in on one side. The only 'boutique' thing about this place is the premium price. Do yourself a favor and find a safer spot.

We loved our stay here. It was such a great location. Our room was large, the beds were comfortable, and the staff were helpful and friendly. They provide coffee, tea, and filtered water for free in the lobby. If you stay, don’t miss Wolf Bakery only 1/2 a block away.

The staff at the hotel was absolutely EXCELLENT. When we asked for something they did it instantly not 10 minutes later. The only drawback to this hotel is NO elevator. If you are young and healthy or if you can lock in a lower floor room like we did this hotel is a GREAT choice.

Disappointing and shabby stay.

The reception area was as advertised. The staff were polite, but not particularly friendly. The bedroom was as advertised in size and decor, except that the curtains in my room, which looked out onto an inner courtyard along with several other rooms, offered no privacy at all. So, if you wanted any privacy, you had to be in semi darkness or with the lights on even in daylight hours, as you had to close the curtains to get any privacy. A set of net curtains for day time and black out/opaque curtains for night time would make much more sense and offer the required privacy. The bathroom was shabby, and in need of refurbishment with peeling paint on the ceiling, mould and yellowing tile grout in the shower cubicle. Further, the bathroom was very oddly situated segregated from the bedroom where you had to get through two doors, all within the main room space, to access it. Certainly not an experience I would repeat, especially given the price charged for the stay. The staff were unhelpful when asked if I could change rooms. Finally, something I found extremely odd was the varying amounts my friend and I were charged as city tax for our one night stay. All in all a disappointing and shabby stay. Not one to be repeated and not one I would recommend.

A gem of a find!

A lovely short stay in this fabulously located hotel and it did not disappoint. The room was spacious and well served with clean towels delivered each day and complimentary drinks provided on arrival. Staff were very friendly and accommodating and the free coffee in the reception was to die for. Despite being in the heart of the city, we enjoyed a peaceful night’s sleep due to the clever location of the room in proximity of traffic. The bed was large and comfortable. Sure, the short stairway to the room was a little daunting and may be challenging for someone with limited mobility, but is in keeping with a building of this style and did not cause us any issues. The hotel also has resident the coolest cat in Amsterdam! Overall, a wonderful stay in a fantastic gem of a hotel.

A really fabulous hotel - boutique is really accurate. Great service, great room, and reception serives spot on. Right in the heart of the city but away from the masses. My room had a fabulous (and unexpected) balcony. Would stay again for sure.

Great size and location.

The room was a great size especially since we stayed for 3 days. Nice quiet location on the canal but close to activity when we wanted it. The snacks and coffee in the lobby that were always available were appreciated too and Casey the cat added a casual atmosphere.

Everything you want in the right place

Classic Amsterdam feel in a great neighborhood close to everything. Clean room, daily room servicing. Wonderful staff, great AC, solid complimtsry espresso 24hr a day. Would absolutely stay again.
