Budget spa hotel

We had a 2 night stay made week for a funeral. After the first night the room was not cleaned or bed made nor was fresh towels provided. Only the shortbread biscuits were replaced. Had to go to reception and ask someone to come and do the bed. That took 2 hours for them to come. Room was a bit tired lots of scratches in furniture etc. Corridor full of trays with remains of meals etc Was unable to get any spa treatments as fully booked. Spa wasn't very relaxing on Thursday evening as it had lots of noisy screaming feral kids, some who were in the hot tub unaccompanied and clearly were under the 8 min age. Surprised a spa would allow kids. If this isn't a drowning waiting to happen then I don't know what is! Not the relaxing spa break I had hoped for. This was a budget spa.

Last minute booking as I needed to stay in area. Nice Hotel, good check in, lovely big rom with Aircon, very much needed. Bar and bar food was good Only negative was breakfast, totally overcooked, sausages and eggs absolutely solid as a rock, felt like a few days old and reheated several times.

Overall good, just needs better room cleaning

General hotel was pleasant and breakfast good fare with good service. Though the general areas of the hotel were clean, the room in which I stayed wasn't particularly clean. Debris and items under the bed (including a flip flop!), toothpaste on the shower tiles, dust in the bedside cabinets. Good parking. Didn't use the spa or the restaurant so no comment on these.

Room and staff and breakfast good parking good.Bitbthete was a music event that we hadn't been informed of and after the busiest week of my life I just needed sleep the event was noisy and most people seemed to be staying over so then it was the noise of groups going to their rooms and have a smoke out side it went on for a while they mentioned it in reception when I booked in but it was muffled on the front of the building and got louder as we went to our room it was jovial noise just loud when I desperately needed sleep

Loved the service in the greenhouse room where we had a 70th birthday party. Terrible service during the day in the bar, when we sat on the patio for a few hours. Only one bloke on his own who didn't cope well. Bar closed early at night time. Would expect it to stay open longer for residents on a Saturday night.

The hotel's facilities look great but the service lets it down. Often there is no one on the reception or bar. You arrive and don't know where to do or what to do as noone is greeting you - this is your first impression so important it's a good one! The bar staff are overwhelmed to the point the don't even acknowledge you when you are waiting. If some basic hospitality training was given it would vastly improve ratings and client experience.

Lovely hotel and spa. I guess in the summer this is more a wedding hotel (we stayed friday and saturday and there were weddings both days). This didn't effect us at all, other than the long queues at breakfast time - there was no noise and we weren't disturbed at all. The room was very large, clean and modern. A really nice touch as the option not to have your room serviced if you are staying more than 1 night, in exchange for a voucher for the bar - thats a win win. Overall, a lovely break
